TeaLeafs Summer Newsletter

My last newsletter was in the winter and I am very happy to say that TeaLeafs is gearing up for summer. How I love this time of year. How I’m looking forward to blue skies, warm breezes, sunshine and ICED TEA!!! I discovered some new very tasty teas that will be wonderful both hot and iced. I think you’ll agree.

  • Organic Peach Strawberry is an organic black tea that is a fruity and pleasant blend of ripe peach and sweet juicy strawberries
  • Organic Mango Pear is a delicious paring of an organic white tea and two organic fruits
  • Decaf Green Mint has a mildly pungent mint character with a smooth and sweet finish
  • Decaf Jasmine Green has an unbelievable character! The jasmine notes are perfumy and full floral. It’s hard to believe its decaffeinated!
  • Long Island Strawberry and Champagne Raspberry are now replaced with Organic Long Island Strawberry and Organic Champagne Raspberry. Absolutely delicious!!

I went to the Chicago Gift Show in the winter and found many great new items for TeaLeafs. The first item I came across that wasn’t even on my wish list is the Travette Vacuum Tea Maker.  Simply drop your tea leaves (or fresh ground coffee) inside the infuser basket and pour hot water on top; your drink will then steep inside. The infuser basket filters the leaves or grounds when you pour the beverage in a cup. It is 18/8 stainless steel inside and out with vacuum insulation that holds the brew at the perfect serving temperature. The Travette has a 17 fluid ounce capacity.

I also found “Messenger Mugs”. Colorful circular silicone dots let you spell out names and moods on the outside of your mug. You can customize it to fit your own unique personality. With 6oz., 8oz., and 12oz. markings on the inside of the mug, you can effortlessly keep track of your liquid intake. Great for hot or cold beverages and perfect for helping a younger child learn to spell. Microwave and Dishwasher safe.

Many of you have requested a French Press for your loose leaf tea. I found a single serving size and a larger version. I love making a cup of fresh loose leaf tea in the morning using my single serve French Press. It’s perfect for one cup of hot tea and very often, I re-steep the leaves for a second cup. If sharing, the larger version is perfect.

I am waiting for Fresco Twist & Go Vacuum Bottles to arrive at TeaLeafs. This 20-ounce bottle is leak-proof and features a two-way lid. Remove the top to add ice or clean; twist off the cap to sip. The Twist & Go will keep your beverages cold for hours!!  Made from vacuum-insulated stainless steel.

When I was at the New York Gift Show I met the owner of The Honey Hutch.  They have wonderful ceramic berry basket gift sets that make ideal housewarming gifts, thank you gifts, shower gifts  and that’s perfect for me gift!! They include a 6 ounce honey ( Tupelo or Wildflower) and wooden dipper packaged inside a ceramic berry basket that has handy drainage vents to let you wash your fruit. It’s the perfect way to say, “Welcome home”. A perfect fit for TeaLeafs.

Natural stone tile coasters that are printed in the USA have arrived at TeaLeafs. They are heat, water and weather resistant so they can be used indoors or out. The tile coasters have a cork backing to protect your table. The images on the coasters are permanent, not decals, and have wonderful sayings on them. Make sure you check them out on your next visit.

Besides tea, I am a purse freak!! Therefore, I am excited to announce TeaLeafs is now carrying Anuschka hand-painted quality leather handbags and wallets. Each product captures the dedication and passion of the Basu family and their talented artists and craftsmen.  Anuschka is a perfect combination of design, quality, wearability and art. Crafting an Anuschka takes a unique production process. Experts carefully examine and hand select premium, fine-grain cowhide before- hand cutting the design to be stitched. Craftsmen hand- assemble and meticulously stitch each bag before the hand painting process begins. Artists work together to bring sketches to life by hand painting bold artwork onto each piece. Art checkers inspect each finished piece before it leaves the studio. A Basu family member hand signs “Anuschka” reflecting their commitment to quality and authenticity. The Basu family has upheld its commitment to provide local villagers with the opportunity to earn a living using their skills. Their adherence to Fair Trade policies ensure their employees are paid higher wages than other similarly skilled workers in India and are offered comprehensive health insurance and retirement benefits. Champions for education, the Basu family promotes  learning for both their employees and their families. When you purchase an Anuschka, you become part of the company’s story helping to better the lives of others.

Since we are heading towards summer and iced tea weather, Takeya Iced Tea makers are back in stock. They provide the fastest way to make freshly brewed iced tea! You can make, serve, and store your iced tea in one convenient pitcher. All you have to do is add your favorite tea to the removable tea infuser, add hot water to brew, let steep, add ice and shake to flash chill. The airtight lid locks in flavor and nutrients and allows you to store the container in the refrigerator door or on its side.

That brings you up to date on what’s new at TeaLeafs!!

I wish you all a wonderful summer and I hope to see you soon at TeaLeafs.

Thank you for your friendship and support. I wouldn’t be here without you.
